This activity should take 2-3 lessons, and involves sampling soil from within or around the school, and analysing for pH, moisture, texture, organics, and salinity. A presentation to use with students in an ICT - packed lesson. Google Earth is a great tool for exploring the planet, and this is a useful lesson in demonstrating how to use some of Google Earth’s functionality to determine the epicentre of an earthquake. Contains slides, and a video demonstration embedded within the Powerpoint. It is a large file, so beware.
